DR Mahesh Krishnan has been presently working as Consultant Arthroscopist and Shoulder surgeon at various hospitals in and around Thrissur for last few years. In short time he gained a good will and high level of reputation among orthopedic surgeons and general practitioners as a dedicated arthroscopist.Afer the formal training in PG in orthopedics at medical college Calicut; he joined for fellowship training in knee arthroscopy under DR Schiller Jos for an year 2005 to 2006.He also got trained in the select sub specialty of shoulder arthroscopy under Dr Ashish Babhulkar, Pune, at Sanchethi institute and Mangeshkar Hospital Pune.He also received special training in shoulder and sports surgeries at Klinikum University ,Marburg, Germany. He is known among surgeons for his highest degree of surgical expertise and the depth of knowledge in shoulder pathologies. He is also keen in disseminating the knowledge to junior surgeons and has been linked to various scientific associations in and out of Kerala. He is the founder member of Kerala Chapter Shoulder and Elbow Society, India, and currently the treasurer of the same. Over 700 cases of arthroscopic surgeries of knee and shoulder has been added to his account till date, and he is still moving much ahead of his fellow surgeons sharpening his skill and learning more. He has formulated a new rehabilitation protocol {SCRP-Shoulder Complex Rehabilitation Program}, combining principles of rehab from various institutes in and out of India. With the advent of this rehab program “the nonsurgical management of painfully stiff shoulder” has stretched its limits to bigger dimensions and has become the mainstay of treatment for many shoulder diseases. Academic training and hands on workshop are being regularly conducted on SCRP for physiotherapist at Elite Mission Hospital, Thrissur every year. He is one among a few pioneers in shoulder surgeries who started total arthroscopic Rotator Cuff surgery in Kerala, way back in 2008.His commitment to professional ethics and zest for academics is well known. He holds a pleasant and friendly nature and keeps a good rapport and inter personnel relation with peers and colleagues.
